Environmental Management is Top Quality for Artetch Circuits
August 2009
West Sussex based Artetch Circuits is celebrating a ninth successful audit on its British Standards Institute Environmental Management System accreditation known as the BS EN ISO 14001.  The re-evaluation is viewed by the Company as a significant achievement and has helped influence the business approach taken by the hi-tech circuit board manufacturer.  Martin Morrell, Managing Director explains, “Artetch are focused on limiting their environmental impact and we hold regular working groups involving all staff, to focus on improvements and run through energy saving ideas. We have already seen a reduction in our Carbon Footprint and are well on target to lower our Co2 admissions by 5% this year.”  Artetch Circuits has identified further recycling opportunities that will greatly reduce the waste that goes to landfill. Such an initiative will not only make a positive contribution to the environment but will also impact on the profitability of the business. Martin Morrell explains, “There is no doubt that the accreditation really makes us consider our business approaches. For example, our reducing waste going to landfill is not only better for the environment but also ensures we pay less for the cost of burying commercial waste. In the current economic climate that is a winning combination.”   The Littlehampton based Company can supply conventional, double sided and multi layer circuit boards to the aeronautical and aerospace industries and has been in operation since 1967 but has grown significantly since a management buy-in lead by MD Martin Morrell in 2006. Artetch offer Rigid, Flexible and Flex-Rigid PCBs in small, medium and large volumes supporting QTA and production requirements through its UK based factory or through its Off-Shore Partners
